MILESTONES IN PRIS HISTORY

Some milestones in the history of the PRIS include:

1982 - launch and inaugural issue of "Plastics and Rubber Singapore Journal" under the editorship of Dr Philip Adams; this continued successfully under A/Prof Teoh Swee Hin and Prof Hardy Chan

1985 - founder Member of Asean Countries Union of Polymer Science along with Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand (now defunct);

1990 - accepted as Member of Pacific Polymer Federation in which we are presently represented by Professor Hardy Chan and Prof Goh Suat Hong;

1993 - First Honorary Fellowship of the Institute awarded to Dr Philip Adams;

2001 - The Institute is renamed The Plastics and Rubber Institute of Singapore in 2001 to reflect the Institution's statue in Singapore.
